That’s simple. We do our best to approach life from a Bible based point of view, one Jesus Himself delineated in Matthew 22:37-40 – Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”
One of the outstanding (and extremely exciting and comforting) teachings in scripture is the imminent, or any-moment return of Jesus Christ for His church, one that He clearly taught in John 14:1-4 “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know,
and the way you know.”
And Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 15:50-58 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written:
“Death is swallowed up in victory.”
“O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?”
The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
So, regardless of your eschatological view (for the most part or if you have one) it can be assumed that when the ultimate moment of change for believers comes, it will be in a moment measured similarly to an eye-blink…a twinkle. As mentioned above, we take great comfort in that knowledge and decided it was the right name for our little website.
Bren’s Art And Whatnot?
This section features Bren’s art which she has previously sold on another platform, but which now thankfully graces this site. It is available for purchase at our Gumroad store. It can also be purchased from us as physical copies upon request. The price will be slightly higher and on a per-unit basis and all shipping costs would need to be covered by the buyer.
What about the books?
They were conceived, developed and written over the course of about 6 years. Or, it’s better said that the first two, originally intended to be a single volume came into being then. They were picked up and published by a wonderful, local publishing company called Old Line Publishing. The first book needed to be split for printing purposes and once published, seemed to want to become a series of 5 books. Sadly, Old Line needed to close shop reverting all rights to Shon, who then re-edited them to the best of his abilities and then re-released them between 2012-2014 (approximately). The physical copies can be purchased from Amazon.com , where we find that the quality of their printing is wonderful in its consistency. The same holds true for the E-books for Kindle. We have kept the pricing as low as possible to increase affordability and access to even the most humble budget.
And about those audio books?
This was an idea that grew out of the author’s love for audio books, music and the desire to try something challenging and new. The cost of hiring a professional voice is prohibitive for an unknown series, so the voicing fell to the author, Shon (me). Once that decision was firmly and irrevocably planted in mind, the whole dramatized aspect simply followed and made sense. There are most definitely lingual anomalies and errors due to the narrator’s hearing impairment, but rest assured, he did his very best. There are also slight variations between the written and spoken text due to the desire to communicate the narrative as clearly as possible…these differences are only very slight and do not in any way change the stories. This was an overwhelming but “fun” task that took many months of do-overs and many sessions of audio-engineering-triage in an attempt to have overall consistency in sound quality, volume and audio integrity.
The Music?
One hundred percent of the music was composed, designed, performed and or programmed by Shon with loads of editorial input by Bren, the amazingly talented series artist and illustrator. Upon request, any of the loooong sections of scoring can be provided, however those passages are not included in the album purchase section of our Gumroad store.
The rest of the DragonTree series content?
The art page consisting of all of the illustrations from the series are free to download, but would require permission to be used in any projects outside of the DragonTree series world. The same goes for all of the photographic content…otherwise, please enjoy them all.
